Hi all, I’m just a lurker for now and not an owner but I’m hoping to change that in the not so distant future. I’m a USCG collector with a primary focus on collecting items from the WWII era. It has been a dream of mine to own some modern USCG history. If anyone runs across a complete or project boat for sale that’s close to original condition, please send it my way. I’m also interested in any original takeoff parts. I’m happy that this forum exists!

Welcome! It seems gov-auctioned Defenders are getting harder to come by - I think a lot of the fleet has turned over to the newer Metal Sharks now and the rare few that are still getting decommissioned seem to never make it to auction or get snapped up fast. The pandemic and massive surge in used boat prices probably didn’t help either.

Thanks! Yeah, my timing is really terrible. I think the border patrol is still using a few so maybe they will make it to auction eventually. The hunt is on!
