I have a fairly stock RB/S setup with the old Furuno Navnet VX2 plotter onboard. I wanted to add AIS to my boat, but wanted to experiment with it before committing to an expensive Furuno AIS receiver.

Here is [an article I wrote](https://bluedefender.medium.com/feeding-ais-data-to-a-furuno-navnet-vx2-plotter-with-a-raspberry-pi-6348bbca6909) on how to use a cheap Raspberry Pi computer to get it working.
